IF YOU LIVE IN EAST HARTFORD:
East Hartford resident students at the Connecticut IB Academy who live outside the two-mile walk zone are transported by DATTCO buses contracted by East Hartford Public Schools. Students ride the same bus as the East Hartford High School students to school each morning. On days when CIBA and East Hartford dismiss at the same time (half-days, exam days, etc.) students ride the same bus home. On regular days due to the extended day at CIBA, separate DATTCO buses pick students up at CIBA after school.

IF YOU LIVE OUTSIDE OF EAST HARTFORD
CIBA students who reside OUTSIDE of East Hartford but INSIDE the RSCO Transportation zone (see map) are transported by buses scheduled and managed by CREC Transportation. Please contact CREC Transportation at 860-524-4077.
PLEASE DO NOT CALL CIBA FOR QUESTIONS REGARDING
BUS STOPS, ROUTES, ETC.
TEMPORARY CHANGE OF BUS OR STOP
If a student wishes to ride a different bus or embark/disembark at a different stop for a single occasion or a temporary situation, s/he must follow the following procedures:
1. At least ONE DAY before the requested change, the student must bring a WRITTEN note to the main office signed and dated by the parent or guardian with the date(s) for the change, the bus the student normally rides and/or stop s/he normally uses. The note must then include the stop s/he needs to change to for the date(s) specified in the note or the bus number of the bus the student needs to change to for date(s) specified in the note. Phone calls will not be entertained for this due to liability issues.
2. Having the note does NOT guarantee that the bus or stop change will be approved by the bus company. Ms. Dolan must fax the note to the appropriate bus company for approval and the final decision is up to the bus company. No administrator at CIBA can overrule the bus company’s decision.
3. If the request is approved, Ms. Dolan will provide a pass for the date(s) requested.
4. If the request is DENIED, Ms. Dolan will inform the student.
PLEASE DO NOT CALL CIBA TO APPEAL A DECISION ON A TEMPORARY BUS CHANGE AS THIS IS SOLELY THE DECISION OF THE BUS COMPANY WITH WHICH WE MUST ABIDE.
