Working Cities Challenge

The Working Cities Challenge is a competition designed to lead teams within smaller cities and towns through a rigorous process that brings collaborative, cross-sector and diverse teams together to solve economic growth issues impacting the lives of low income residents and diverse residents, including communities of color.  The competition is sponsored by Boston Federal Reserve Bank.

Working Cities Community Survey 2017-18

The Working Cities Challenge is a grant opportunity that the East Hartford Public Schools and the Town of East Hartford, with several other community partners, are applying for. This opportunity focuses on the economic revitalization of the Silver Lane Community.  The Working Cities Challenge requires collaborative leadership across different sectors, community engagement, measurable progress based on evidence, and systems level change.  Our East Hartford Team is focusing on workforce development, community and education, and neighborhood revitalization in the Silver Lane Neighborhood.  Please take a few minutes to complete our survey, especially if you live in the Silver Lane Community.  Please call 860/622-5515 for more information.
