Our center is located at Mayberry Elementary School, 101 Great Hill Road, East Hartford.  We are located in Room 24.  Look for our entrance on the left hand side of the building, in front of the handicapped parking.

Please call 860.622.5737 to learn more about our programs or stop by between 8:00-3:00 Monday through Friday.


Workshops are held on a monthly basis.  Please see our workshop webpage for a complete list of workshops or contact the center at 860.622.5737.


Playgroup Registration 2018-2019: Playgroup registration will take place on Wednesday, September 4 and Thursday, September 5 from 9- 10 am .  A copy of your child's immunization record is required for playgroup.  Please bring a copy to registration or you can fax it to: 860.622.5719 Attn: FRC.  We look forward to seeing you soon!

About Us:

The Family Resource Center was established to support the healthy development of families in the community.  The FRC offers an integrated system of family support services that enhance parenting, promote family involvement with the schools and help children to succeed academically, socially and emotionally.


Some of our services include:

Playgroups:  We offer playgroups four days a week to East Hartford residents and their children ages birth to five.  Playgroups are held from 10-11:00 a.m.  Children learn the fundamentals of interacting with others their own age which is an important part of a child's social and emotional development.  Chldren enoy games, crafts, story time and singing songs while parents can meet new members of the community.

Parents as Teachers:  A program designed to help facilitate positive parent-child relationships.  Learn from our parent educators how to be your child's first and most influential teacher.  Home visits are available to show parents educational skills that will help their child grow into a positive learner.  Parents will also learn effective discipline and strong communication skills.

GED/ESL Referrals:  Our center collaborates with the East Hartford Adult Education office to provide parents with GED/ESL classes.

After School Activities:  The Crossroads after school program offers tutoring and enrichment activities for students in kindergarten through fifth grade at Mayberry Elementary School. 

Parenting Workshops:  Thoughout the school year the Family Resource Center hosts informational workshops for parents on a variety of topics from professional speakers who are experts in the field of parenting and child development.  Learn insightful tools in parenting that can help you better understand your child and be the most effective parent you can be.

Book Place: School and community members may select two free books for each of their children each month.  We have books in English and Spanish.  This is a great way to start your home reading library.  Hours are Monday-Friday 8:30-3:00.



K-8 elementary educational resources for teachers, students and parents.

Interaction, educational games (math and grammar) for children of all ages.  Games include Math Baseball, Change Maker and Wacky Tales.

Curriculum services for internet technology – using schools includes direct connections to instructors, interactive programs and teacher support.

Official home of Sesame Street, Teletubbies and PBS’s other kids shows.  Play games, read jokes and paint some of their characters.

Math Fact Café provides the best math sheets and flashcards for elementary grades.  Access hundreds of pre-generated math sheets or generate your own custom sheets.  The site requires no login and is totally free.  Totally awesome!

At Family Education parents find educational printables, games, activities, parenting ideas and advice and information on learning disabilities for all ages:  babies to teens.

This web site was developed to help students improve their math skills interactively.

A site designed for students, teachers, parents and school administrators.  This site will ease your day to day work.  Hop in, sign up and have fun!  Teachers and parents can assign questions for the students.  Students can do the assignment online.

Reading lists, series books, classic titles and the newest title all are part of Kidsreads.com  along with trivia games, contests, author interviews and author biographical information.

Read a storybook and play games with your toddler.  Toddler storybook site original storybooks, educational games and coloring pages.  Read a storybook today!

Education site designed for preschoolers presents TV schedules, pictures to color, language lessons and fun beginner computer games.
