As the end of the year approaches, each Class begins a transition. Seniors are ending a thirteen year journey as they transition to College and Careers. Juniors transition into their culminating year of high school with great expectations. Sophomores grow into upperclassmen with an eye on post-secondary planning, while Freshmen spring into year two of high school ready to build their academic resumes.
Building-wide, each of the focus areas has numerous strategies and daily actions intentionally planned and implemented to ensure effectiveness and success. Below, I have summarized efforts on each of the four focus areas for this school year. We look forward to continue progress as the spring semester moves along.
EHHS is in the midst of evaluating our School Improvement Plan. During these sessions, teachers and administrators review our progress this year on our strategies as we develop a plan for next year.
Teachers continue to utilize a variety of student-centered strategies in their classrooms as the year winds down. Now is the time for students to apply the skills and concepts they have learned throughout the year as they finalize projects and prepare for Final Exams.
All throughout the Spring semester, we have had a homework help program, IGNITE, in the library afterschool three days a week. Students have ben accessing subject specific help from content area teachers from 2:30 to 4:00 pm.
“B’ or Better” is the slogan Mr. Fote has been preaching to the freshmen. Most recently, he held a B’s or Better Breakfast where every freshmen with a 3.0 GPA or higher received a “Scholars” shirt.
Our students are working hard every day in the classroom and on the playing surface. Come check out our student-athletes as they enter into the tournament season.
